State of mind.

I don't know if it's because it's Monday. I don't know if it's because I spent the last two days skiing, snow tubing and ice skating. I don't know if it's because my left brain is arguing with my right brain over this guy. I don't know if it's because my apartment is lonely without my furry little friend Fernando. I don't know if it's because I'm spending my 37th birthday in Vegas. I don't know if it's because I'm having the least productive work day ever. I don't know if it's because I ate the saddest excuse for poutine this side of the Canadian border. I don't know if it's because the weekend sun went back into hiding. I don't know if it's hormonal. I don't know if the planets are misaligned. But I'm feeling empty in a way I haven't since July 2008. A serious storm of melancholy has settled, showing no sign of relenting. I'm feeling far away, more distant than even usual.
