I used to be a lover of the holiday season. I am now a hater. Last
evening I traveled to my home land to go purchase a tree for Christmas
with my family. After my mom and I realized the tree stand we owned
was much too large for the tree we had selected, we made a trip to the
place of home improvement. As she fawned over the sale priced
adornments I kept telling her that the only adornment necessary on
Christmas is the image of Christ which is why I was almost able to
convince her to purchase a grand scale inflatable manger set for the
front yard. Through dinner I argued, much to the behest of my teenaged
sisters, that we should abolish unnecessary gift giving in defiance of
the retail nation we have become. Honestly, I can't think of a thing
that I either want or need and this my friends is a terrible thing to
come out of the mouth of a shopping addicted young woman.
I think I am bored with life.

I know where you are coming from.
This will be the first Christmas ever in my 31 years of life that there is not a Christmas Tree in the house I am living in.
With my recent breakup and living situation neither of us were feeling all that in the holiday spirit and decided to forgo the tree. It is kinda sad in a way.
I do have an inflatable Peanuts snow globe in the living room though, thats kind of cool!
