The Battle.

I was early, as usual, half wondering whether or not he might show up. I was over dressed but at least I had the excuse of just coming from work. Let's forget that I work from home and wear spandex most days.

The waitress leaned over our tiny table to light the candle. Ambience she said and smirked. I laughed a subdued laugh, not quite sure if the date sitting across from me was prepared for my all out, no holds barred laugh, the one that comes easily and often since I find a lot of things to be funny. I don't remember what he was wearing or if he was particularly tall. He was good looking but not in an overt way, probably not somebody I'd glance twice at if he were to cross my path on a busy street. That is if Milwaukee had busy streets filled with people any time other than bar close.

The uneasiness of new conversation faded quickly. There were no awkward pauses reeking of discomfort, for which I was grateful. The evening sun faded slowly over the river and suddenly exactly two hours and thirty minutes had passed.

P.S. I'm off to Mexico tomorrow.

About Me

I like run-on sentences and also syntax based loosely on the approved constructs of grammar.
