Blah, blah, blah...Girl Power

I was sitting here at work, perusing the world wide web, and doing some thinking about my own morality and that of the average populous (all while being generously compensated). I always thought I was okay with applying societal standards of morality onto others. I'm finding it hard to avoid hypocrisy when I myself am no example of any moral high-horse you might recognize. Principally I prize integrity, hard-work, and honesty. And while day-to-day my conscience preaches like a baptist minister, my actions never seem to align properly with that particular doctrine. I'm not sure I'm even talking about petty things like promiscuity, abuse of copious amounts of alcohol, or even drug use, probably because I have been repeatedly exposed to them resulting in desensitization.

As of late I'm finding it very difficult to let the government, or others who feel the need to force some diluted and scripted morality onto this county, do so. I won't deny that so many laws based in morality (abortion, drugs, etc) were made to protect and guide people but I wish that we as a society could be responsible enough to make our own choices. Arguably, those laws are made for those people who aren't equipped with better judgement, but that seems to punish the rest of us. I think it's the Libertarian streak inside expressing itself. I'm all about smaller government, which is a major reason I placed my vote in the hands of the Republicans this last election. In case you're interested, the other reason was because I found GWB less slimy than Mr. Heinz Ketchup. Alas, the promise of smaller government has resulted in what I should-have-known-to-be-but-refused-to-recognize inevitable expansion of the administration.

There are plenty things I like about America, especially when I compare it to other options, but like all things there is much room for improvement. Take for example, my thighs, they're okay but definitely could be better and certainly much worse. Unfortunately in both cases I'm not sure if and when there will be changes so I've just got to deal or do something about it. At this point in time, I'm thinking changing the country might require much less work than changing my body parts (haha, just kidding).

Oh, come on, grrl. _You're_ not falling for this "I hate my body" bit, are you?

BTW, I'm sending you a separate e-mail about David Horowitz's writings.

Not so much hating on myself...just needed an analogy. Although, we could all use some self improvement now and then. I will respond to your e-mail once I have escaped the confines of my cubicle.

About Me

I like run-on sentences and also syntax based loosely on the approved constructs of grammar.
